A tragic accident claimed the life of a 15-year-old eighth-grade student, Muskan Khan, in front of Sagar Gaire on New Jail Road. The incident occurred around 8:30 PM on Sunday night when a bus traveling to Ujjain hit Muskan’s moped while she was taking a U-turn.
The bus, reportedly moving at high speed, struck the moped with such force that Muskan got trapped under its front tire and died on the spot. Her younger brother, Ayan, who was also on the moped, suffered minor injuries after jumping off during the collision.
Muskan, a resident of Ehsan Nagar Karond and the daughter of Nazir Khan, was a student at a private school. On the night of the accident, she had gone to the main road with her brother to eat chowmein. While returning home via Jail Road, the bus collided with their moped.
A passerby rushed Muskan to People’s Hospital in his car, but she was declared dead upon arrival. Her family, informed by an acquaintance, reached the hospital shortly after.
Nazir Khan, a truck driver who moved to Bhopal ten years ago for his children’s education, is devastated by the loss. He recounted that Ayan escaped with minor injuries, but Muskan’s chest was crushed under the bus’s wheel, leading to her instant death.
The bus driver, unable to control the vehicle due to its speed, left the bus at the scene and reported the incident to the police. Authorities have registered a case and are investigating the matter.
The family, including Muskan’s mother, who was informed of her daughter’s death late at night, is engulfed in grief. This heartbreaking incident highlights the need for stricter road safety measures and responsible driving to prevent such tragedies in the future.
