After inspecting under-construction Shaurya Smarak here on Tuesday, Housing and Environment Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya said that its appearance should motivate people for patriotism.

Vijayvargiya directed officers to construct the memorial conforming to its objectives. He said that the construction made so far has spiritual effect whereas it should have been focused on spirit of patriotism.

Vijayvargiya said that Shaurya Smarak should showcase the challenges country’s soldiers face on war front. It can also be displayed through digital medium as to how the Army uses modern techniques. On entering Shaurya Smarak, one should feel the air of patriotism and service to nation. Cooperation of Culture Department and ex-servicemen should be sought for this.

Vijayvargiya went round Theatre of War, Death, life After Death, Museum Gallery, administrative building, amphitheatre etc. at Shaurya Smarak and gave necessary instructions to officers.

Giving information to Vijayvargiya about Shaurya Smarak’s construction works, Principal Secretary Urban Administration SN Mishra informed that it is being built on 12 acre. It is a personification of martyrs’ lives dedicated to service of nation. Its exhibits inter-weave complex experiences of life & death, war & peace, moksha and satsarg etc. in simple and easy ways through different shapes, colours and techniques.

Bhopal collector Nishant Warwade, Municipal Commissioner Vishesh Garhpale and officers of Rajdhani Project were present on the occasion.

Vijayvargiya took stock of preparations for Bhopal Science Fair-2014 to be held at BHEl Dussehra Ground from February 14 to 17. It will be held jointly by Madhya Pradesh Council for Science and Technology and Vigyan Bharti. A number of technical institutions will put up their stalls in the fair.

While inspecting arrangements for security, sanitation, light, first aid and fire-fighting, Vijayvargiya directed Municipal Commissioner for leveling of the ground. He also directed district administration and Municipal Corporation to appoint their nodal officers to finalise fair’s arrangements.
