Goods worth lakhs of rupees were gutted in a major fire that broke out at the BGS Honda showroom at Bhopal Talkies Square on Monday. The cause of fire was reported as short-circuit.

Fire tender vehicles were pressed into the service after fire broke out at around 1 pm at a two-wheeler showroom of Honda at Bhopal Talkies Square.

Around 15 two-wheelers were gutted in fire and the total loss in the fire is estimated at around Rs10 lakh. The fire broke out during the renovation work in the showroom at the second floor.

In the initial investigation police suspected that the fire broke out due to short-circuit but the reason which caused fire was not confirmed and would be investigated, told the police.

More than two dozen fire tender vehicles were engaged in pacifying the fire that took around four hours for completing dousing the fire. Around 40 fire tenders were deployed in the rescue operation.

The fire erupted after a short circuit which occurred in the showroom and it soon spread across the two storey building and engulfed the whole showroom.

Initially few fire tender vehicles reached the spot which were not able to pacify the fire and around an hour after the fire broke out fire took massive shape after which more fire tender vehicles were pressed into the job and this delay in services provided by fire brigade proved costly as the less number of fire tender vehicles were not able to pacify the fire which increased the loss.

The fire broke out at showroom which is one of the busiest roads of the city.

Soon after the fire broke out huge crowd was witnessed outside which disrupted the normal traffic increasing the chances of worsening the situation. later, the road was closed for traffic and diverted.
