Three persons, including two college students of a private dental college were arrested on Friday by a Special Task Force (STF) of the police in connection with Barkatullah University examination scam.

According to sources, lab technician Ranbahadur Patel of Rishi Raj Dental College used to pass on information about weak or borderline students who could be lured into clearing the examinations through unfair means, to the main accused nabbed earlier. Earlier, at least 80 students were under the scanner, but the STF narrow down its search and accelerated the investigations as was evident during the past two days. They visited just six BDS colleges on Thursday, searched documents and interrogated students.

Following the search, three persons were arrested a day later. The three were identified as Imran Mansoori, Chandra Prakash and Ranbahadur Patel.

Imran Mansoori and Chandra Prakash are students of Rishi Raj Dental College while Ranbahadur Patel used to work as lab technician who used to help students in clearing the examination.

Both the students were aware of the ability of their classmates and used to provide the contact details of persons who could help them get through the examinations for a consideration. Although not officially disclosed, it was clear that a majority of those involved in the scam were from Rishi Raj Dental College and People's Dental College.
