Two persons were booked under Gambling act when a house at Shyam Nagar was raided by the Habibganj police late night on Saturday. The two accused were found accepting bets on the ongoing IPl match between Sunrises Hyderabad and Delhi Daredevils IPl match.
According to the police on geting the information of betting at Shyam Nagar a team was rushed to the spot and nabbed two miscreants. The police claimed to have recovered Rs 6000 in cash, one TV, one laptop, one pen drive, one voice recorder and mobile phones from the house.
During the investigation the transactions worth Rs 10-15 lakh were revealed and the details of the transactions are under investigation. The contact numbers in the mobile phone are being investigated. The call details of the miscreants with other gamblers and bookies would help in revealing more details of the transactions. The nabbed miscreants are Vishal Sahu (32) and Shivkukmar Patharia (26).
Vishal Sahu is a resident of Itwara and was booked under gambling act in the past while the other miscreant Shivkumar Patharia is a resident of Bhanpura. The police are searching criminal record of Shivkumar.The miscreants were running the betting business in a rented house. The owner of the house was not aware of the gambling. The police have registered a case under section 4 (1) of the gambling act. The police have confirmed that it is possible that the accused might be charged with different sections of IPC and Information Technology act during the further investigation.
