Two people died and around 17 people were injured in a violent clash which took place after the declaration of results of sarpanch in Panchayat election at Nazeerabad on Saturday. Irritated over losing the elections Narayan Singh along with 20 supporters attacked the supporters of Dayal Singh Gurjar who were on their way after having dinner arranged by Gurjar to celebrate his victory.
The attackers were armed with iron rods, wooden sticks and were headed by Gurjar who opened fire at the supporters which led to the death of Chain Singh, but police were not able to confirm whether the deceased was shot by Gurjar. Police have started investigation. The victims were rushed to nearby hospital where one of the injured who sustained bullet injury was declared dead while on Sunday another injured succumbed to injury.
The deceased were identified as Chain Singh who was shot dead while the other deceased was identified as Kanilal. Four of the injured victims are reportedly critical while condition of other victims is reportedly stable and are under going treatment at Hamidia and lBS hospital. A case under section 307 of the IPC was registered by the police and later section 302 of the IPC was added. Police have started investigation into the matter and have detained people who would be questioned during the investigation.
