On the initiative of Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) ex-officio Sanjeev Bhargava and Kiran foundation, a two-day traffic awareness programme was organised in St Mary's Convent Sr Sec School, Tulsi Nagar on July 24 and 25, 2018.
In the programme, which was exclusively for students from classes 9 to 12, a group of 450 students were attuned with the traffic rules. Chief traffic warden Sanjay Somani in his address told the students to be aware of traffic rules. To avoid road accidents they should wear helmets and maintain moderate speed of the vehicles.
A documentary movie was also screened on the occasion highlighting the importance of following traffic rules. The other traffic wardens Mayank Nema, Kretika Setia and Ishita Dhakad also addressed the students in order to sensitize them towards the ever rising number of fatal accidents due to violation of traffic rules. They shared their experiences so that students get inspired to become traffic wardens who can play an important role in streamlining city traffic.
Rakesh Bhargava of the Kiran Foundation told the students the need to be conscious about their health and to avoid junk food as they have bad effects on health. Students were also told about good touch and bad touch. Traffic Subedar Neelam and staff of the school were also present in the programme.
In the end the principal Sr Mary CD expressed gratitude to the team for such an initiative.
