Having failed to get his wife back home, a 25-year-old youth committed suicide by hanging from the ceiling at his Ratnagiri residence under Piplani police station area, late on Thursday night.
According to the police, the victim Suresh Das had estranged relationship with his wife and used to fight frequently with her. Few days ago victim’s wife deserted him and went to her parents’ house. The victim tried to convince her but nothing fruitful came out. On Wednesday, the victim had gone to his in-laws’ house and tried to convince his wife but failed in his efforts. After returning at around 2.30 am the victim committed suicide by hanging from the ceiling. When the family members spotted the victim he was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead.
Police were informed and after preliminary investigation the body was sent for the post mortem. The police have registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC and have started further investigation. The victim used to work as daily wage labour and the locals have informed that their financial condition of the victim was not sound, which was the reason behind frequent quarrel bwteen husband and wife. Meanwhile, another suicide was reported in the Piplani police station area on Thursday in which a 35-year-old man committed suicide by hanging from the ceiling at 100 Quarters area of Piplani.
According to the police the victim Kailash Jera was found hanging at his residence. Police were informed and the body was sent for the post mortem. In the initial investigation no reason was singled out by the police but they have confirmed that the reason which prompted the victim would be investigated.
