Two boys drowned at Ajnaal Dam in Ratibad area in the evening on Sunday; around half a dozen youths have gone to picnic at the dam. Sunil alias Gabbar Shah (16) of Dashmesh Nagar and Anas Ali (15) of Pragati Nagar drowned when the two went inside water at Ajnaal Dam at around 4 in the afternoon.
According to the police the two boys left the house and never returned. The family and police were informed regarding the accident by the friends who were at the spot.
The bodies were fished out by the locals and were rushed to hospital where the two were declared dead. Police said that the circumstantial evidence suggests that the two went to take bath at the quarry without informing their parents and later, drowned at quarry, he added.
The bodies have been sent for the post mortem and a case under section 174 of the CrPC has been registered by the police. Police have started further investigation into the matter. Foul play could not be ruled out in the case, which could be investigated. During the investigation the other youths at the spot would be questioned. Police said that other angles in the deaths would also be investigated. Other details could be revealed after receiving the post mortem report. After the spot friends left the spot and family members have revealed the names of those friends who would be questioned later in the investigation.
