Two youths were booked for attempting to rape a 12-year-old girl at Garethiya Dangi village under Berasia police station area on Saturday evening.
According to the police when the minor victim was sitting outside her house along with her younger brother the two accused Raja Mehar and Ravi Bediya approached her with ill-intentions and took her inside the shanty but before they could assault her sexually she started shouting for help hearing which the locals rushed to her rescue.
Sensing that they might be caught the accused escaped the spot and are still missing. Police were informed and a case under Section 354 and 34 of the IPC has been registered. Interestingly the negligence of police surfaced in the investigation as they denied that the victim was dragged by the accused and tried to sexually assault her and based on their initial investigations they have registered a case of molestation.
The parents of the victim who works as daily wage labours were at work when the incident took place. At the time of incidence victim and her younger brother were present at the home which provided a trouble-free opportunity for the accused to commit crime. The locals have confirmed that the two accused are involved in bullying and eve teasing in the past also.
Police told that the victim has been molested but any attempt to rape by the accused could not be confirmed. The investigation has been started and the accused would be nabbed soon. Till the filing of the report no arrest in the case has been made.
