SR Prasad, Executive Director, BHEl, Bhopal on Saturday inaugurated three new State of the Art Testing and Calibration Facilities 2014 in Technical Services Division (TSD) of BHEl Bhopal. DK Dikshit, General Manager, Quality; AK Murgai HOD (TSD), Additional General Manager, TSD and other senior officials were present on this occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Prasad appreciated the efforts made by the Quality team to upgrade the facilities to International standards. He further emphasized on BHEl’s capability to produce world class equipment making the gathering aware about the stiff competition from Multinational companies.
High precision laser based Universal length Measurement Machine from Germany for calibration of various Gauges used in production and quality control. Plasma based spectrometer imported from UK has been inducted in Technical services division to test Chemical Composition of Alloys and its Purity Analysis. Universal testing machine has been upgraded to Automatic operation for testing of strengths of materials.
Technical services division of BHEl Bhopal has prestigious NABl accreditation. With the installation of these Machines the strength and capability of labs in TSD have achieved Bench Marking with the Best in the World.
Meanwhile, BHEl Bhopal has successfully designed, manufactured and dispatched 5 Nos. H-Compact 800 KW motors to its esteemed customer M/s Shree Cement. The order of 5 motors rated 800 kW/690V/1500 RPM with TEFC (Totally Enclosed Fan cooled) cooling system was received by BHEl with strict delivery terms.
Motors with TEFC cooling system are normally termed as ‘H-compact’ for their ability to pack high kW ratings in very compact frame sizes as compared to traditional designs. Moreover, these motors have higher efficiency with lesser vibration and noise levels.
The motor has been developed in 450mm shaft center height with End-Shield-mounted anti-friction bearings. The motor enclosure type is IP55. The finned stator frame and end-shields which were manufactured in-house at BHEl Bhopal.
