Sarman Shivhare, the convict who had been sentenced to double life sentence for brutal murder, on Friday, was sentenced to another term of life sentence on Saturday for killing a jewellery shop employee in the year 2010.

On basis of the circumstantial evidence produced in the court by prosecution, Special Sessions Judge Avnindra Kumar Singh held Shivhare guilty of murdering one Kuldeep Jain and sentenced him to life imprisonment.

On February 5, 2010 Shivhare had shot dead Jain in a building near Tukoganj police station in Indore. After murdering Jain he fled with a bag containing jewellery that was with Jain who worked with Jammu and Kashmir Jewellers in the same area.

After his arrest in Satna on July 25 in 2011, Shivhare had confessed that he had murdered the dentist Varsha Varma and her minor assistant Ram Maurya apart from Jain.

He also revealed that he had hidden the bag containing jewellery beneath a seat of a scrapped bus at MPSRTC compound in Vijaynagar area.

The bag was later recovered by the police in presence of two independent witnesses. The bag not only contained the stolen jewellery but also a diary of Jain containing information about his misdeeds.

These jewellery items were identified by the deceased's brother Jaideep and jewellery showroom owner.

Government prosecutor Jyoti Tomar informed that the recovery of the stolen items proved to be vital evidence against the serial killer and on the basis of the circumstantial evidence produced by prosecution, court found Sarman guilty of murder.

The day before on Friday, Shivhare had been sentenced to double life sentence for the murder of a dentist and her assistant.

Apart from this, he was also awarded 10 years of rigorous imprisonment in a different case involving attempt to murder. With the several sentences passed against him, Shivhare is likely to spend rest of his life behind the bars.
