After horrifying tremors felt in the State capital on Saturday, the same were felt by the city on Sunday as well. The tremor was felt at around 12.40 pm.
City people witnessed the tremors for about 4-5 seconds, no damage of property or life occurred by the earthquake tremors felt in the city.
People evacuated their houses after tremors and remained outside fearing any mishap in the earthquake.
On richter scale, the intensity of the earthquake was 6.9, which was reported in the afternoon in Nepal and several parts of the country witnessed tremors of the same. The city was one of the places, which witnessed tremors in the afternoon.
The epicenter of the earthquake was 80 km west from Kathmandu.
Tremors were felt across the State. Indore, Jabalpur, Rewa, Satna, Raisen and other districts felt the tremor. The intensity of the tremors was high in the regions situated in the northern region of the State.
However, the intensity of the earthquake was low compared to earlier tremors on Saturday, but people have witnessed huge damage to property and lives in Nepal and were afraid of the earthquake due to which people evacuated their houses after witnessing tremors.
Met department officials have recommended the people to remain away from high risers and Kaccha house.
The intensity of the earthquake was very low and the time and intensity could not be gauged in advance for the earthquakes so it is better to remain away from high risers and kaccha houses.
