Scientists have un-coded the human genome’s chemical code language due to that the treatment of diseases like cancer and schizophrenia would become possible in future. The human genome project has also paved way for cheap and personalised medicine. Nowadays, fashion of making genome profile is becoming extremely popular.
These views were expressed by the experts during a three – day workshop organized here on the topic, ‘Next Generation Sequencing (NGS): A discussion forum towards whole genome sequencing and DNA library preparation.’ The workshop was organized by Madhya Pradesh Science and Technology Council Bhopal’s Biotechnology Centre of Excellence with cooperation of Science and Technology Department – Government of India, New Delhi.
About 120 participants from universities, colleges and scientific institutions of the state are taking part in the workshop.
Indian Institute of Science, Education and Research (IISER) – Bhopal’s scientist Manish Pathak delivering his lecture over the topic of ‘Gene and genome biology’ said, “The research during the past one-two decades in the field of infrastructural bioinformatics and genome sequencing have paved way for the personalized medicines. In current times analysis of human genome has become easy and cheap. Chances of employment are increasing due to genome project besides the way for the molecular medicine has been paved.” Specialists from Premaz life Science – Gurgaon, Haryana’s Rahul Solanki, Rashmi Chowdhry from Bhopal, NIRH Bhopal’s PK Mishra, MAPCAST’s RK Garg and Anita Tilwari delivered lectures.
