On the occasion of International Museum Day 2023, Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya is organizing Online Essay Writing Competition, quiz competition, Night Sky Observation Do and Learn museum education programme, the summer educational program series conducted at the Sangrahalaya has remained the center of curiosity of the visitors and participants these days.
The workshop on Pottery Art of Pokhran, Rajasthan, which started from May 10, 2023 as the first link of the series which includes participants of almost every age and class is now towards completion. In the eight-day demonstration cum training program the participants are practicing the techniques of making various pottery on traditional chak, modern moto chak, and hand operated chak.
The second part of the series will start from May 18, 2023, on the occasion of International Museum Day by organizing a training program on Rajasthan's Embossed painting in which Mr.Yogesh Sharma a traditional and accomplished artist of Mewar style invited from Nathdwara Udaipur will train the registered participants It is worth mentioning that Upad painting is a modified form of traditional Pichhwai and miniature painting. In which multiple nuances of painting are applied on the 'Upad' i.e. raised shape Instead of group combination, only single figures are decorated with colors and gold and bright colors. This eight-day program is open to all registered participants above the age of 12. Registration for the workshop is going on.
On the occasion of International Museum Day, a quiz competition is being organized on Thursday, 18th May, at 11.00 a.m. in the Shailkala Auditorium on the topic Our Museum – Our Heritage. The program coordinator Sudhir Srivastava told about the outline of the quiz competition that the competition will be organized in two parts. 2, In all the questions and crosswords, questions based mainly on our state will be asked. The duration of the competition will be 1 hour 15 minutes. All questions will be asked in writing.
