As part of the ‘100 Days Programme’, the India Tourism, Indore, in coordination with Madhya Pradesh Tourism will hold a sensitisation workshop to promote the ‘Incredible India Bed and Breakfast, Home Stay Establishments’ scheme here on Thursday.
The workshop is aimed to sensitise the various tourism industry stakeholders about the scheme "Incredible India Bed and Breakfast, Home Stay Establishments" of the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, which provides an all together ethnic experience of comfortable home stay, local culture, cuisine, customs and traditions with good standards of facilities and services at an affordable cost to make the stay of tourists a memorable one and also supplement the availability of accommodation.
There is a shortage of rooms in many tourist areas as well as the smaller towns and the metro cities. The growth of budget accommodation needs to be encouraged as the construction of hotels is capital intensive and the availability of suitable land at a reasonable cost is the main constraint being faced by the hotel sector on Wednesday.
The workshop would be chaired by managing director, Madhya Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation ltd (MPTDC) Raghvendra Kumar Singh. A presentation on the scheme would be made by Regional Director of Tourism, Government of India Vikas Rustagi. Officials of the State Government of Madhya Pradesh, Hotel and Travel Industry Associations, representatives of the Institutes of Travel and Hospitality Management, approved Guides and members of the media have been invited for the workshop. Some of the B&B establishment owners would share their experiences by which will be followed by a Q&A session.
