A State level training of trainers is being organized by Dept of ENT-Head & Neck-Surgery, AIIMS, Bhopal. This three day training shall be from 16th to 18th August 2023. This training is funded by & is being held under the aegis of National Programme for Prevention & Control of Deafness (NPPCD), National Health Mission, M.P. The training programme was formally inaugurated today on 16th August, 2023. Prof (Dr.) Ajai Singh, Executive Directior & CEO was the chief guest of the inaugural ceremony.
Prof(Dr.) Ajai singh, congratulated the department and appreciated the efforts of NPPCD, MP Team for making utmost efforts to improve the service delivery for Ear, Nose, and Throat ailments in the state of Madhya Pradesh. He advised the participants that our emphasis should be on the prevention also, along with diagnosis and treatment. He also invited the ENT specialist to take small community based research projects where AIIMS, Bhopal can be a strong facilitator and partner.
Professor Singh also told that AIIMS Bhopal would be happy to extend the hand holding role for improvement of ENT operative services at District hospitals of M.P. State. National Programme for Prevention & Control of Deafness is a Government of India initiative being implemented by M.P. State also. There is a high prevalence of hearing loss in the community and the causes include ear discharge, congenital hearing loss and age related hearing loss. NPPCD is rolled out to prevent, diagnose and manage the hearing loss.
The training of trainers is intended to strengthen the workforce at District hospitals and health & Wellness Centres. Dr. Vikas Gupta, Additional Professor, ENT-HNS AIIMS, Bhopal and the convener of this training welcomed all the participants and the dignitaries.
