Dismissed IAS officer Tinu Joshi, who was wanted in connection with disproportionate assets cases, on Tuesday surrendered before the local court. She reached the court on a wheelchair posing as she was sick, but the court sent her to judicial custody. Tinu and her husband Arvind Joshi were dismissed from service last year and are wanted in various cases but only Tinu, who arrived on a wheelchair, surrendered before Additional District and Sessions Judge DP Mishra and applied for regular bail.
On December 18, the Supreme Court had given three weeks to Tinu, asking her to apply for regular bail in court by January 13.
Her counsel Pratul Shandilya prayed to the court that his client should be given regular bail as she has to undergo hysterectomy procedure (removal of uterus) at Government Medical College in Udaipur.
In his submission, Shandilya said that if Tinu did not get medical attention, her ailment could develop into a uterus cancer. He said his client was serious and was suffering from a heart ailment as well.

Tinu and Arvind had gone absconding since March 1 last year after the lokayukta police chargesheeted them. Since then, the court has issued around half a dozen arrest warrants against them. Arvind is still on the run.
