Three staff members of RKDF College were quizzed by the police in connection with the abetment to suicide case in which a B-Pharma girl student had committed suicide by hanging from the ceiling on July 6 after being harassed by senior students and a faculty member.

Father of the victim Rakesh Sharma has demanded that a case should be registered against the alleged friends of the senior girl students whom the victim was asked to befriend with as they were involved in the harassment of her daughter.

The family members want harshest punishment for the culprits who created situations which forced the victim to take the extreme step.

Principal of the RKDF College Rajeev Chandok, Vice Principal Rakesh Panicker and Associate Professor Neeraj Abhimanyu were quizzed by the police.

Nothing concrete was revealed by the three but the police have confirmed that those being aware of the situation would not be let off easily and would be held responsible. The anti-ragging committee members would be asked to provide the information regarding the consequences which lead to the suicide and to describe the role of the seniors and faculty members in the abetment to suicide case.

Notably, Anita Sharma, pursuing her B-Pharma second year course from the RKDF College, allegedly committed suicide at her residence in Jeevan Vihar Society. The victim has complained about the harassment to a faculty member Manish Gupta who threatened her to remain quiet on the issue.

The harassed victim committed suicide and after her suicide the issue surfaced when the suicide note was recovered.
