Three shops were razed at Ravishankar Nagar by the Municipal Corporation located at No. 5 market of Ward-46.
Liquor was being sold in these shops for 3 months. Apart from the residents, BJP and Congress leaders and workers were opposing it. A complaint was also made to the Urban Development and Housing Department in the matter.
Former councilor Asharam Sharma had complained. After this, the Building Permission Branch of the Municipal Corporation had given notice to Aziz Ahmed on July 4. In which it was said that the construction of shops was done illegally. On Friday, the Municipal Corporation team reached the spot and took action.
The liquor shop was shifted in April in the shops which were demolished by the Municipal Corporation. Earlier the shop used to be in the market, but since April, the residents were opposing the establishment of a shop in the area.
For this, they had also staged a sit-in demonstration. On the other hand, many BJP leaders including former minister Umashankar Gupta also sat on the dharna, while Congress MLA PC Sharma, former councilor Yogendra Singh Chauhan and other Congressmen also protested.
