A 20-year old youth and his mother were attacked with sharp-edged weapons by two miscreants at Hinotia under Ashoka Garden police station area late on Thursday night.
According to the police, at around 10 pm a youth and his mother were attacked with sharp-edged weapons and soon after committing the crime, they fled the spot. The locals rushed the victims to Hamidia hospital, where condition of the woman is reportedly critical.
The victims were identified as Ankit Yadav and his mother Narmadi Bai. The victims had a fight with one Tukaram and his sons Mukesh and Heru. During the investigation, police found that a fight occurred between Ankit and the accused. While Ankit was beaten up by the accused, his mother intervened and tried to stop the fight. The accused then attacked the victim’s mother Narmadi Bai.
Narmadi Bai was attacked in her head and right shoulder and was bleeding profusely while Ankit sustained multiple injuries in ribs and other body parts. The victims are undergoing treatment at Hamidia hospital. The police have registered a case under section 307, 294, 506 and 34 of the IPC and have started further investigation.
Police said that the fight was fuelled with an old enmity and the accused tried to settle the score with the family and when they found the victim alone they took the opportunity and take the revenge. Till the filing of the report no arrests were made and the search for the accused has been intensified.
