The police have arrested three members of the gang who were involved in cheating old women in Bhopal.
The police have also arrested a minor involved in the gang. The gang used to flee after cheating old women by duping them of jewellery and handing them cash which used to be paper bundles. The leader of the gang is a resident of Delhi.
According to the police, on March 3, a 60-year-old woman was duped by a gang in Mangalwara and on March 23 by a 55-year-old woman in Hanumanganj area. In return, by giving them a bundle made of pieces of paper by telling them a bundle of notes, they ran away. The police formed a team to nab the gang.
Meanwhile, the police came to know that the gang was roaming in Obaidullaganj toll naka Narmadapuram road. Arriving at the spot, the three accused were nabbed and confessed to have committed the crime with both the old women. Gang leader Dhaniram Solanki alias Suraj JJ Colony, New Delhi. The police have taken him on remand to recover the stolen jewellery. The police will take him to Delhi.
The accused were identified as Ramesh Silavat (40), Dhaniram Solanki aka Suraj, Rahul Solanki aka Rahul and a minor.
