A husband and wife and a 55-year-old woman were injured in a jackal attack in Kalyanpur (Bairsia) village of the capital Bhopal.

They ran to save the child from the jackal due to which the jackal attacked them and injured his hands. The injured and villagers are calling the animal a leopard, which has been rejected by the forest department.

Bhagwat Singh's father Pannalal Gurjar (35), his wife Mankunwar Bai (30) and another woman.

Bhagwat Singh, who came to Berasia's hospital for treatment, said that the animal would have killed his son if his wife had not saved him and she fought to save him and when she came to rescue, he attacked him  too.

In the matter, Deepak Srivastava, Range Officer of Nazirabad said, the teeth marks and the method of attacking were ascertained. This showed that the attacking animal was not a leopard, but a small jackal. Along with getting treatment in the hospital, financial help has also been given. The incident happened while going to the toilet in the morning.

After receiving the news of the animal attack, the forest department team reached Kalyanpur village on Saturday afternoon and inquired about it.

There is a camp of tigers in Bhopal district and there are also animals like leopard and jackal. Range Officer Srivastava said that the news of the leopard attack was wrong. The animal is a jackal.
