Three engineering students of a private college drowned at Ghoda Pachad Dam under Bilkharia police station area on Monday. According to the police, three youths drowned while taking bath who have gone to the dam along with five other youths.
Police were informed and divers were pressed into service and two bodies were fished out. The deceased were identified as Piyush Ranjan, Sonu Kumar and Ankit Sharma. Piyush was a resident of Patna, Sonu was a resident of Begusarai in Patna and Ankit was a resident of Ujjain.
Bodies of Piyush and Sonu have been fished out while the body of Ankit is yet to found. After the preliminary investigation, the bodies was sent for the post-mortem.
The deceased were pursuing engineering from lNCT College and were student of first semester and have gone to the dam along with five other classmates at around 2 pm. After they reached the spot they decided to take bath and later three drowned.
The friends at the bank informed Dial 100 regarding the incident. Piyush, Sonu, Ankit, Mrityunjay, Abhay, Chirag, Paras and Ujjawal have gone to the dam after the last paper of their semester.
One of the friends of the deceased Abhay told the police that all the friends know swimming. Ankit came out of the water and was seating at the bank when he spotted that Piyush and Sonu were drowning and to save them he jumped into the water and after he lost his balance he got drowned.
Meanwhile, a 10-year-old boy drowned at a stock dam in Kajlikheda village under Kolar police station on Monday, deceased had gone to take bath along with his younger sister.
According to police the deceased Rohit Singh had gone to take bath along with his 60-year-old sister and drowned as did not know swimming.
His sister informed parents after the deceased went inside water and failed to came out of the water. The body was fished out around 2 pm by the divers.
