Khandwa police have three miscreants who duped Rs 3 lakh by producing fake documents of two victims who were scheduled to receive compensation money under Sardar Sarowar Dam project.
The three accused were identified as Jagdish of Ghoghal village, Sheru Pancholi and Gopal Piplode of Indore.
Jagdish confessed the crime with his accomplices Sheru Pancholi and Gopal Piplode of Indore produced fake voting card and adhar card to commit the fraud.
On August 18, 2017 the victim Bhawanishankar of Ekhand village lodged a complaint with Kotwali police of duping compensation money provided to him against his land acquisition under Sardar Sarowar Dam project.
In his complaint the victim stated that under the compensation provided for rehabilitation for his land acquired under project worth Rs 2.42 lakh and other person of his village Gulab Singh Rajput was worth `1.6 lakh were duped by the accused. This is not the first time that many youngsters have been duped by them.
