Gold and silver jewellery along with cash were burgled from C-Sector, Shahpura under Chunabhatti police station area on Monday. According to the police, Sanjay Mafiwala along with his family had gone to Shirdi on February 13 and on February 16 on their return, they were informed by their neighbours that the house was ransacked. The victim on their return found that the locks were broken and on entering the house, they found that the house was burgled. The almirah, which had the valuables, was targeted.
A complaint was lodged with Chunabhatti police and in the complaint, the victim claimed that a gold finger ring, a pair of gold ear rings, a pair of gold bangles, eight gold beads and Rs2,700 cash were found missing. The estimated total loss in burglary would be around Rs50,000, but the exact loss could not be provided and would be ascertained later after the complete checking of the valuables in the house. The victim works as a stenographer with the Mineral Resources Department.
Victim resides in BDA Colony, Shahpura. He informed that most of the ornaments were in the bank locker, thus the loss of ornaments was quite less. Except the gold jewellery and cash, other valuables were not disturbed by the miscreants, which suggests that the miscreants were informed by some one about these valuables. The police have registered a case under sections 457 and 380 of the IPC and have started investigation.
