The life of Rajmata is a big inspiration for all, said Rajasthan Cabinet Minister Kiran Maheshwari.
Rajmata Vijaya Raje Scindia Memorial Trust in association with Zee Classic with its brand proposition of 'Woh Zamaana, Kare Deewana', showcased the theatrical trailer of Ek Thi Rani Aisi Bhi in Bhopal on Wednesday.
The film is based on the book 'Rajpath se lokpath par' written by Mridula Sinha, Governor of Goa that revolves around the life of Rajmata Vijaya Raje Scindia.
The movie features Hema Malini as the protagonist of the film. The film also features Vinod Khanna, Sachin Khedekar and Rajesh Shrinrapore in pivotal roles.While talking to the media persons, Yashodhara Raje Scindia said, “A true account of the iconic leader, the film touches upon her life, lifestyle, struggles, victories and defeats, her thoughts and their significance in present and future times.” Elaborating further, she said, “There only few leaders who have seen pre and post independence era and Rajmata is one of them. Rajmata’s life was impacted by the common man's dreams before independence and their hopelessness after it. The frustration affected her and shaped an ordinary girl into a spirited leader.”
On the occasion Kiran Maheshwari and Maya Singh also shared their moments with Rajmata and at a point became emotional.
According to Mridula Sinha, Governor of Goa, “This was my privilege that Rajmata Scindia gave me an opportunity to write an autobiography in Hindi. I thought the struggle and achievement of her life will inspire younger generation to live life for the nation and hence I draw a conclusion that a biopic feature film on her life will be a true gesture to pay due respect to such a stalwart leader.”
The film's theatrical trailer was also launched by Amitabh Bachchan in Mumbai.
Talking about the movie, Director Gul Bahar Singh said that a lot of research on her life was required to make this biopic. He said, “Hema Malini was the first and right choice for playing the role of Rajmata. Hence when we reached her for the role she accepted it gracefully and has justified the character at its best.”
Ek Thi Rani Aisi Bhi will release on April 21 nationwide.
On the occasion, Madhya Pradesh Ministers Yashodhara Raje Scindia and Maya Singh, former BJP legislator Dhyanendra Singh, Rajasthan Minister Kiran Maheshwari, Rajya Sabha member and BJP President from MP Nand Kumar Chouhan and film's director Gul Bahar Singh were present.
