A Hindi play 'Adhe Adhure' that was scheduled to be staged on Sunday was cancelled due to the Rang Panchami celebrations in the city.
The play will now be staged on April 6 at Antrang hall, Bharat Bhavan to mark the concluding day of the 10-day long theatre festival.
The Adhaar Theatre Festival 2013 is evoking a good response by the theatre goers of the city at Bharat Bhavan. But, slight changes in the scheduling of the plays have somehow disheartened the audiences.
While talking to The Pioneer, organiser of the theatre festival Rakesh Sethi said, "We know that the sudden cancellation of the play has upset the audiences, but as rang panchami is celebrated with a lot of fervor in city of lakes we decided to shift this play forward."
Elaborating further he said, "We have invited different theatre groups to perform in the city not just o entertain the citizens, but to get connected with the theatres on Bhopal."
While giving further information Rakesh Sethi said, "Aadhe Adhure is one of the well known Hindi dramas written by Mohan Rakesh. It is the classic play that was written 40 years ago, but still appears as the freshly prepared script."
The story unfolds on a meticulously designed set reflecting the sixties decor, a house in a state of mess and decay and where the problems are as elusive to comprehend as the solutions.
The play had several shows earlier and is been directed by noted actress lillete Dubey. This time the play will be presented by Vivechna Rangmandal from Jabalpur under the direction of a young theatre director Pragati Vivek Pandey. Further, Sethi informed that the play which scheduled to be staged on the concluding day Sandhya Chaya is excluded from the festival this time.
The rest of the scheduling would remain the same, he added. Bharat Bharati directed by Sanjay Mehta would be staged on April 1, Varun Ke Bete directed by Asif Ali on April 2, Box , Eesuri and Gaaon Naam Sasural Mor Naam Damad would be staged on April 3, 4 and 5 respectively. lastly, Adhe Adhure would be staged on April 6.
