The only thing to know is believe in You, says the new IAS topper Tapasya Parihar.

She was addressing the IAS aspirants on Sunday in a workshop organised at Maulana Azad Central library. Tapasya secured All India 23 Rank. Nearly 400 participants attended this workshop organized by Civil Services Club. Tapasya shared the story of her success and preparation for civil service exam.

She said that it is better to do self study and develop your own way of preparation and rely on any other. Hailing from Narsinghpur from a farmer family, Tapasya prepared for JEE. Soon she realised that she is not interested in engineering.

“After four-five days I realized that engineering is not just about me. So I took admission in law. There was a lot to do but I did not even hear the name of the ClAT. A friend told me about it and then I took admission in a college where only admission was obtained on the basis of merit.”

She further shared that when she joined college at Poona, she realised that there is so much to learn. “When I started self studies, I started to improve in my exposure and skills by participating in all possible activities. My Grooming in college helped me to become an IAS,” she added.

She also told the aspirants that during her college she started working at legal Aid Clinic of the college. But soon she made it out that it was not helping people. So she opted for IAS. She also said taht going to Delhi for preparation should not be considered as a solution.

She added, “There are four things necessary while preparing for IAS i.e. Conviction, Patience, Happiness and Honesty. So believe in yourself and start your preparations.”
