How good plans get delayed and sometimes gets completely failed due to corruption, this message was given through the play ‘Tender of Taj Mahal’.
Written by Ajay Shukla, the play was staged at Anand Mohan Mathur Auditorium, Indore, to observe the occasion of Hindi Diwas.
The play was wonderfully performed by the artists of Rangmanch Art of Drama under the direction of
Sandeep Dubey.
‘Tender of Taj Mahal’ made the audience laugh their hearts out and also made them think about the corruption which has spread like cancer from top to bottom in all Government departments.
The play is based on a situation that if the emperor Shahjahan wills to construct the Taj Mahal in present time in the loving memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal how difficult it would have been for emperor Sahajahan to construct the Taj Mahal. It will take years to release the tender for Taj Mahal.
The play highlights that Shahjahan could not get the land so easily and neither encroachment on the land could be removed. How the file moves in the Government offices and how the bureaucracy hinders the project of the Taj Mahal and at last projects come to halt. Through this play the writer has taunted on the nexus of politicians, bureaucracy, and land mafias.
Sandeep Dubey played the role of emperor Sahajehan, and Pooja Parmar acted as Mumtaz Mahal. Further, Pankaj Sharma was seen in the role as the government officer. Though, the play was staged to observe Hindi Diwas but all the titles and subtiles in play were in English. But, still the matured acting skills of the artists created an impact over the audience.
