The Indore registry office located at the Indore collector office premises including all the 23 registry offices located at all the tehsils of the Indore district have started functioning from Wednesday for the financial year 2020 – 2021.

The total revenue collected as registry tax in the previous year in Indore district was Rs 1176 crore though the target of the previous year for the Indore district was Rs 13.75 crore.

Indore District Regisgrar Balkrishna Mourya told The Pioneer that the Rs 2 crore shortage in collection is due to the beginning of the lockdown from March 23, 2020.

In this current year also we have lost around 50 days as at the first day of the registry on Wednesday we received only 4 registries in entire Indore district. As the ongoing corona pandemic the registry department has taken some precautionary measures to keep the people and employees safe and made circles all over the registry offices as the people coming to the office can stand far from each other in circle.

Face mask is compulsory in registrar offices for everybody. The moment the customer will enter into the registrar office we will have his thermal screening. The registrar office will provide him hand wash and sanitiser facility before and after the registry.

Initially only 10 registries per registrar have been fixed so that the crowd at the registry office don’t increase suddenly and we will inform the people in advance for visiting to registrar office so that there is no crowd.
