Teacher’s day was celebrated with great pomp and enthusiasm here at the Fr Angel Co-ed Senior Secondary School premises on Friday.

The Principal and teachers holding lit candles in their hands were ushered in by the school cabinet, as the school band played the ‘Waltz Rhythm’. The band also played the Guard of honour for the Teachers.

The cultural programme started with prayer for teachers and the Nation. Principal Fr Richard Couto lead the prayer and prayed to God for all the Teachers and also the students. The School Choir welcomed the Teachers with a melodious song which enthralled the audience. Fr Principal once again welcomed all teachers and presented each teacher a sapling symbolizing a ‘Child’ entrusted to their care to look after their growth and well being. In his address to the Students and teachers he mentioned that teaching is the only profession which creates all other professions.

He further said that teachers play a major role in making their students responsible citizens of tomorrow and good human beings. He thanked the teachers for their immense contribution. The local MlA also awarded appreciation

letters to the teachers.

Special arrangements were made to watch live telecast of Prime Minister’s interaction with students.

To add grandeur to the celebrations a huge cake was cut by the Principal and teacher representatives. The event concluded with breath taking contemporary dance performance by the students.
