Immediate action should be taken against miscreants and anti-social elements in eve-teasing and molestation incidents against women and girls and any negligence on the part of the police could not be accepted, said IG Bhopal Jaideep Prasad at a review meeting of senior officials and station house officers (SHOs) at the police control room on Thursday.
The list of active and absconding goons in the district which has been provided to BMC Commissioner and district collector by DIG and active participation and support should be provided to BMC in removal of encroachment of these goons.
Instructions were given to police station in-charges to conduct intense checking of vehicles by creating different check points and conduct checking till late in the night.
The main focus of police has been the regions where women and girls visit or stay in good number like schools, colleges, hostels and woman institutions and for their safety and security PCR vans and Shakti Squad would vigil the main gates and would patrol the roads near these places and strict action would be taken against the teasers and molesters.
Meanwhile, decision of razing encroachment on government land by absconding criminals for long was taken in a meeting held at Bhopal Division Commissioner Office on Thursday.
From March 17 the action of razing encroachment would start, decision was taken in meeting. DIG Bhopal Dharmendra Choudhary has provided list of absconding criminals to BMC Commissioner and district for survey. In the meeting Bhopal Division Commissioner Ajatshatru, IG Bhopal Jaideep Prasad, DIG Bhopal Dharmendra Choudhary, BMC Commissioner Priyanka Das and District Collector Sudama Khade were present.
