Soon after the allegations made by Digvijay Singh here on Tuesday morning, local scribes made a beeline to Zeenat Dress Material, in 65 Sitlamata Bazar of the city, to enquire about the veracity of the allegations.
Saleem Khan, proprietor of Zeenat Dress Material on being contacted, agreed that a person had approached him on Tuesday for getting a quotation for 10,000 burqas from him. The same has neither been purchased nor delivered. Khan said he had submitted quotation for 10,000 burqas amounting to Rs 4.5 lakh on the condition that delivery of these burquas would be made only after receipt of an advance of 20 per cent of the total value. He said the quotation which was shown by the Congress leader to media persons appears to have been doctored as the amount in this quotation is higher than the amount quoted by him. To substantiate his claim, the tailor said he had original copy of the quotation.
