Madhya Pradesh Power Management Company  on Friday clarified that the power supply situation is improving constantly in State. Madhya Pradesh is now getting 100 MW more power from the Central sector while the state’s power plants have increased generation by 300 MW.

According to the MD of the Company and Chairman of all three Power Distribution Companies in the State, Manu Shrivastava, the state has started getting 2050 MW against its share of 3735 MW power from Central Sector. Meanwhile, Power Generating Company’s thermal power plants are now generating 1600 MW power.

During previous days, Madhya Pradesh was getting 1950 MW power from Central Sector while its thermal power plants were generating 1300 MW power. In this way, power supply situation in the state has improved by 400 MW. The power supply situation is constantly increasing in the state. Every possible effort is being made to ensure supply of power to consumers as per demand.

Similarly, power is also being received from 600 MW unit of Singaji thermal power project. JP Nigari’s newly constructed 660 MW unit will also start generating power in next few days. The Power Management Company has informed that power demand as on August 21, 2013 was 970 lakh units, which has reached upto 1690 lakh units on August 21 this year registering an increase of 74 percent in power demand compared to last year.
