Sudarshan Chakra Corps organises Bi-annual Commanders Conclave

Published on:

Sudarshan Chakra Corps organised its Bi-annual Corps Commanders Conclave from November 7 to 8 at Dronachal Complex. The event is marked by attendance of thirteen of its previous Corps Commanders, a matter of great honour indeed for the Sudarshan Chakra Corps.

Indian Army takes great pride in its history, regimental ethos and spirit-de-corps, and heavily relies on it for building the morale and motivation of its present and future generations, to be prepared to fight for the nation and offer the ultimate sacrifice of life. The event therefore aptly began with wreath laying at the War Memorial, to pay homage to all the soldiers who have laid down their lives for this country.

lt Gen RV Kanitkar, SM, VSM, General Officer Commanding Sudarshan Chakra Corps shared an overview of the recent developments of the Corps, with the previous Corps Commanders. The event also provided an opportunity to the organisation to benefit from the rich experience of these senior officers. The Generals, each of whom, have actively contributed towards the growth and development of the prestigious Sudarshan Chakra Corps, appeared radiant, while reviving their nostalgic memories of the past.

The event provided an opportunity to the Sudarshan Chakra fraternity to further strengthen its ethos ‘Agrasar, Akramak, Vijayee’.Notably, the Sudarshan Chakra Corps was first raised during World War I in August 1917 and thereafter re-raised during World War II in February 1942.lt Gen Amit Sharma handed over the reins to the present Corps Commander, lt Gen RV Kanitkar, SM, VSM, who is the chief host for the ongoing Corps Commanders Conclave.
