The school students of the city were told about the advantages of energy conservation in an event held on Wednesday.
A prize distribution programme was organised at Madhya Pradesh Urja Vikas Nigam, Bhopal premises. During the programme the city school students were felicitated for their colourful expression about energy conservation over canvas.
Notably, Madhya Pradesh Urja Vikas Nigam had organised a painting competition in month of December to observe the Energy Conservation Day. The painting competition was held in all the schools of Madhya Pradesh.
The students from city schools wonderfully expressed their ideas through their paintings. The competition was held in two categories. The students from classes 5 to 7 were in category A and students from classes eighth to eleventh were in category B.
Under the first category the first prize was bagged by Mitani Jain of grade 7 from Asha Niketan School. Second prize was won by Shubhojit Paul of grade 5 from Sagar Public School and the third prize was bagged by Ishita Sarkar of grade 5 from Sagar Public School.
In the second category, the first prize was won by Surbhi Kumar of grade 8 from Billabong High International School. The second prize was won by Pradeep Singh Chauhan of grade 10 from Asha Niketan School and the third prize went to Yash Saxena of grade 8 from Rajiv Gandhi Higher Secondary School. Besides, 11 participants of painting competition were given consolation prizes. The prize winners were given lED bulbs, lED tube-lights and five star rating fans.
On the occasion, Managing Director of Urja Vikas Nigam and Principal Secretary of New and Renewable Energy department Manu Shrivastava addressed the students. He told the students to conserve energy for future generation. He also highlighted the advantages of energy conservation. Praising their innovative ideas on energy conservation and their expression through painting, Shrivastava wished them luck for their future endeavours.
