More than 70 students of MSc first semester of a college in Betul were declared fail in chemistry examination by the examination department of Barkatullah University (BU). The students protested against university administration and cried foul play and demanded reevaluation of the answer sheets.
More than 70 students of MSc first semester of Vivekananda college of Betul appeared in the first semester examination this January, when the results were declared last week students were shocked to learn that almost all the students have failed in the examination, ironically none of the student have secured over 4-5 marks in the paper.
All the students who failed in the chemistry gathered in the university premises and protested against university administration demanding reevaluation of their answer-sheets. Agitating students submitted memorandum for their demands to Bu Registrar Sanjay Tiwari. On of the students, Prashant Chandelkar said
“We wrote the paper well and never expected that we would fail so horribly. I have always secured over 60 per cent marks and was expecting the same. It seems that either our answer-sheets were not checked properly.”
Kiran Pawar, another student said that if few students would have failed it could have been considered that marking was tough but when all the students failed with so low marks then it seems that answer sheets have not been evaluated
properly.
BU Registrar Sanjay Tiwari said that the complaint of the students is being considered and the matter will be raised in the examination results committee of examination department for reevaluation.
