The students of the city wondrously expressed their perceptions about Smart City through canvas painting and essay writing. A painting and essay writing competition was held here on Tuesday at TT Nagar for the school students where the students gave their ideas for the smart city. Mayor Alok Sharma was also present on the occasion and appreciated the innovative ideas.
It is noteworthy that Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) is receiving the ideas for Smart City from the people belonging to different culture, backgrounds and occupations. In the similar series, the competition was organized on Tuesday. The students of government schools including Kamla Nehru Girls Higher Secondary school and Adarsh Higher secondary school participated in the completion.
On the occasion, Mayor Alok Sharma also interacted with the students and told them about the smart city project. He said that the ideas from young minds keep much importance in the making of smart city. He said that he want Bhopal’s name to be added among the 20 smart cities of the nation for which youth play a vital role.
He then said that each individual have to work smartly for this project. Elaborating further he said that for working smart the citizens should improve their civic sense and also should be enthusiastic about it.
He further said that the schools will be well equipped with computer facilities. Also the cleanliness maintenance and best furniture will be provided to the students from time to time. He also said that the renovation will be carried out in the school also a huge play ground will be established there for which he announced an amount of Rs 25 lakh.
On the occasion, Mayor gave necessary instruction to the officials concerned about the renovation work at schools. He said that 300 study tables and chairs should be provided to the schools along with 150 tables and chairs for kindergarten
section.
