The pain and struggles of farmers were brilliantly showcased through a street play ‘Rassi Do Gaz Ki’.

The street play was presented splendidly at DB City Mall here on Monday. Performed under an international street play festival ‘Manthan’ the play was performed by the artists of Ae Se Aenak.

Ae se Aenak are the college students studying at Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT).

The street play focused on farmers’ suicide and also highlighted various issues related to rural India. A team of 50 students were a part of the performance and about 30 students performed the play before the Bhopalites.

The play was a perfect blend of songs, music and lyrical dialogue delivery. Through the body language and picture perfect expressions the performers were able to convey the message to the audience and received much appreciation by them. The play also raised the issue of fake life insurance policies and how the farmers are affected by it.

While talking about Manthan 2017, one of the team members of Ae Se Aenak Prachi Purohit told The Pioneer, “Manthan is one of a kind non-profit annual street play festival which aims to spread social awareness and bring change through the medium of street plays.”

It featured 125 teams that performed street plays throughout and outside the country about relevant social topics at roads, schools, markets, NGOs, slums, villages, monuments. She further said, “It is organised every year. In India as many as 40 cities participated and we were the team that represented Bhopal.”
