Even voice has an expression”, said the city’s theatre young artist Prateek Sharma. Theatre has different features and aspects; one of the main features of theatre is ‘story telling’. The way a story is narrated to the audience, gives a great impact over its presentation and performance of the artists.

Storytelling is the conveying of events in words, images and sounds, often by improvisation or embellishment. Notably, the stories or narratives have been shared in every culture as a means of entertainment, education, cultural preservation and in order to instill moral values.
Talking about the elements of storytelling, Sharma said that the elements of storytelling include plot, characters and narrative point of view.
It is noteworthy that the earliest forms of storytelling were thought to have been primarily oral combined with gestures and expressions. Today, things have been improvised with many other elements.
Giving examples of great story narrations Prateek Sharma emphasized over the voice modulation and expressions. He gave examples of old folk tales and the way it were narrated. Sharma said that the main element of an impactful story telling is to create an imaginary picture before the audience so that the person listening should get totally indulged in it.
