Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Babulal Gaur on Monday informed the Assembly that the Special Task Force (STF) is investigating into irregularities in nine examinations, including four recruitment examinations, conducted by the Professional Examination Board at present.

In a written reply to Congress member Ramniwas Rawat, Gaur said that, of the nine, five were entrance examinations that included the Pre-Medical Test-2012, the PMT-2013, the Pre-PG Exam-2012, the Contract School Teacher Eligibility Exam Class III-2011 and the Contract School Teacher Eligibility Exam Class II-2011.

likewise, the four recruitment examinations included the Junior Food Inspector Exam-2012, the Madhya Pradesh State Dairy Federation Recruitment Exam-2012, the Subedar/Deputy Speaker/Platoon Commander Recruitment Exam-2012 and the Police Constable Recruitment Exam-2012.

He said the STF had arrested students who passed their examinations fraudulently, their parents and those who aided these students.

Earlier, during question hour, Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Gopal Bhargava informed the Assembly that the rules for providing mid-day meals in schools are being amended in order to bring more transparency in the scheme.

Congress member Mukesh Nayak raised the issue of alleged irregularities in the mid-day meal schemes during Question Hour.

“Ration and funds for mid-day meals are not provided in advance in accordance with the rules. Secondly, ration is supplied to the schools keeping in mind full attendance, which is not achieved,” said Nayak.

He alleged that this indicated that funds are being misappropriated. He claimed that self-help groups engaged in supplying mid-day meals were changed in short periods.

In his reply, Bhargava said the Government was mulling change in rules in order to bring more transparency in the scheme. He said it would be ensured that self-help groups are not changed without any genuine reason.
