The Culture Department of the State would pay Rs5 lakh for one lakh postage stamps and envelopes to make the Nabakalebar-2015 event special, said Tourism and Culture Minister Ashok Panda here on Monday.
Notably, the Culture Department had received demands and requests from different quarters about publication of stamps and envelopes in memory of the Nabakalebar of lord Jagannath. Initially, the Central Government had agreed to consider the State’s demand, but later the India Post asked Rs5 lakh for the purpose. After getting communication about the payment, the Culture Department has taken steps to spend money for the purpose.
