State received agri award through 'trickery': Cong

The State Congress on Wednesday alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Government of the State was obtaining prestigious agriculture sector award 'Krishi Karman Award' for the last two years through trickery of 'false data'. Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) spokesman Ravi Saxena in a statement here on Wednesday said, "Congress is exposing the false claims of the BJP Government over grain production in the State for last three years, but the State Government is grabbing the Krishi Karman Award by producing fake data.

This year also the State Government is making similar sickening attempts to grab the award but the Union Minister for Food and Civil Supplies Ramvilas Paswan has affirmed Congress allegations by exposing the data of fake purchase." Saxena said that the Congress party has always questioned the nexus of BJP leaders and middlemen in grain purchase and has always tried to attract the Government towards it.

"We have brought in the knowledge of the State Government that middleman of grain purchases grain at cheaper rates from States like Uttar Pradesh and Bihar and sale it at higher rates with added bonus to the Madhya Pradesh government. Due to this nexus of BJP leaders, middlemen and officers on the one hand riggings to the tune of billion of rupees has taken place and on the other hand by showing this grain as bumper produce of the state fake data is produced to grab the prestigious agriculture sector award," he added.

He further said that the Government not only grabbed the award by producing false data but crossed all limits by shamelessly doing publicity of that. On the contrary, the reality is that the farmers of the state are wandering from one door to another to get basic amenities like electricity, he added.
