The State Government has termed the visit of Trinmool Congress’ Members of Parliament to Khandwa as ‘ridiculous’.
Describing the visit of Trinmool Congress’ parliamentarians to Khandwa as ridiculous, State Government’s spokesman Narottam Mishra has said that this step of Trinmool is not only against the federal spirit, but also an effort to disgrace Madhya Pradesh. Mishra said that if such kind of tendency is not checked then any political party will visit any state in the country for so-called investigation and enquiry, which will create a chaotic situation.
Mishra said that violence against women and their sexual harassment is a sensitive and issue related to human dignity. Any effort to give it political colour should be opposed.
He said that the visit of Trinmool Congress’s MPs is also such an effort.
Mishra questioned in his statement whether such incidents are not happening in West Bengal.
He said that all identified accused in the Khandwa district’s case have been arrested. He said that those taken into custody include woman’s husband and relatives. He said that investigation is going on in the case. legal action has been taken in the case and will continue to be taken.
On behalf of the State Government, Mishra urged President Pranab Mukherjee to not only rebuke West Bengal Government for acting against federal spirit, but also ensure that no political party takes such a step regarding any incident in other States.
