The State Government has issued a letter to Shajapur Collector for immediate action against Suyash sonography centre for violating provisions of Pre-conception and Pre-Natal Determination Test (PC and PNDT) Act. The Government has issues this letter on receipt of information about reopening of Suyash sonography centre.
The committee has also decided to issue show cause notice to concerning Chief Health and Medical Officer. It is noteworthy that a State PC and PNDT Act Committee's inspection and supervision team had undertaken sealing and seizure action against Suyash Centre after detection of irregularities. This information was given at a meeting of Act's State levon Tuesday.
The committee also held discussion on making concerning collectors and CHMOs responsible for conduct of sonography centres without proper registration and committing irregularities, giving permission for practice to sonologists of guilty sonography centres, operation of sonography machines from their houses by Government doctors, award scheme etc.
The Committee also decided to involve Shaurya Dal with all district advisory committee for effective curb on female foeticide. The committee also decided to hold workshops of collectors, public representatives and senior officers of various departments for effective implementation of the Act.
The committee also decided to recommend felicitation of collectors, officers, voluntary organisations and persons for outstanding work in this field in addition prizes given under the Act. Vandana Sharma, Additional Secretary law Amitabh Mishra, Swati Singh and officers of Woman and Child Development and Public Relations Department attended the meeting.
