leader of the Opposition in the State Assembly Satyadev Katare has alleged that the State Government is not replying to his letters which prompted him to know about the fact through Right to Information (RTI).
Talking to reporters here on Saturday, Katare said he wanted to know about many facts regarding the Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board (MPPEB) and Pre Medical Test (PMT) by writing letters but he was yet to receive any reply thus far.
Even Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan did not bother to reply to his letters, he alleged. Katare said the Congress was demanding a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the multi-crore MPPEB scam but the State Government is backtracking. He said that scams took
place in the recruitment process not only in the MPPEB but also in other departments such as the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) and MP online.
He informed that Rs 232 crore were deposited to MPPEB, MPPSC and MP online and the Government should refund the fees of the candidates, who failed in the examination in the past five years, from these amounts.
He demanded that Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board should refund examination fee to the candidates who could not clear various selection tests because of the alleged scam.
"A total of 1.27 crore candidates have appeared for various examinations conducted by MPPEB and paid Rs 232 crore in fees," the Congress leader said.
"MPPEB should refund the fee to those who were unable to clear the tests due to the scam in the board," Katare said.
Demanding a CBI probe into the scam, Katare said, "The agitation launched against it by Congress was turning into a movement."
In a reference to the alleged irregularities in the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC), Katare alleged that the Chief Minister had entrusted all the powers of the board's chairman to its secretary with the aim of controlling it.
