State Congress hits out at Chouhan

The State Congress on Monday hit back at Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan for holding Centre responsible for peasants not getting compensation and payment of crop insurance.

“Chouhan has become habitual of running away from truth and whenever he fails to solve a problem he starts blaming the Centre”, said Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee president and MP Arun Yadav while reacting over Chief Minister’s speech at BJP Kisan Morcha State executive on Sunday.

“Whatever Chouhan spoke was just to provoke the sentiments of the farmers as it is miles away from the reality besides it does not look like that the words have come from a Chief Minister,” Yadav said.

Yadav further said that the Congress led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Government of the Centre does not do any discrimination in allocating funds with the opposition ruled States.

As far as the Madhya Pradesh is concerned ,whenever the State Government has made any demand in the interest of the State, the Union Government has taken quick decision over it and provided desired funds to the State Government.

Before leveling baseless charges against the Centre the Chief Minister should check with his finance Ministry so that he could become aware of the facts, he added.

He said that certain examples of Centre assistance to the Madhya Pradesh are such in which the UPA Government has taken initiatives to provide more than expected assistance to the Chouhan led BJP Government.

The working style of the Central Government is such that development and welfare of whole country is their prime agenda. The decisions of the Central Government are not made under political compulsions, he added.

He said that the Congress led UPA Government of the Centre is equally committed towards the welfare of all sections of the society including the farmers.

Before Chouhan made such allegation he should have better cross-check with Government’s earlier Urban Administration and Development minister Babulal Gaur.

Whenever Gaur used to approach union Urban Development Minister Kamalnath with any proposal he used to get it sanctioned in the first meet itself, and before he returns to the State capital the funds to the tune of crore of rupees were made available in his department, he added.
