The State Congress that considers the irregularities committed in the Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board (MPPEB), as the largest educational scam of the country, staged a sit-in protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on Thursday. later, in the day Congress MPs and MlAs from the State handed over a memorandum to the President of India demanding CBI probe of the scam.
Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee president Arun Yadav, leader of Opposition in the State Assembly Satyadev Katare and party legislators Bala Bachchan, Sachin Yadav, Jitu Patwari, Shailendra Patel, Jaiwardhan Singh and Madhya Pradesh Youth Congress president Kunal Chowdhry were present on the occasion.
Katare has alleged that the State Government was deeply involved in the scam and was continuously trying to suppress it. “We are in New Delhi to tell the people of the country that Madhya Pradesh is not exactly the same that looks from outside,” Katare said while talking to mediapersons.
Katare on Wednesday alleged in the Capital that the corruption has spread its tentacles so much in the State that every now and then a scam comes to fore. Jobs are being provided on the slips written by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). “Bring a slip written by the RSS and get the job, is the scene in the Shivraj Singh Chouhan-led BJP Government of the State,” he added.
The Congress in its memorandum to President Pranab Mukherjee alleged that Chief Minister and his family members besides his Cabinet colleagues, RSS leaders and over 50 IAS and IPS officers are involved in the scam hence it becomes essential that CBI enquiry should be done.
Notably, the Congress legislators cornered the Government all through the recently concluded Monsoon Session of the House over MPPEB and Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) scams.
Though the Government ridicules the Opposition charges and the Chief Minister himself addressed a Press conference over the issue in the State capital to say that impartial trial of both the scams in going on by the Special Task Force (STF) under observation from MP High Court and that is why there is no need to handover the investigation to the CBI.
General Administration Department (GAD) state minister lal Singh Arya told in the state assembly that no irregularities have been committed in the MPPSC.
