Madhya Pradesh Congress has on Wednesday accused the State Government of not bringing investment to Madhya Pradesh.
Chief Spokesman of Madhya Pradesh Congress KK Mishra, while talking to media persons has said that no effort of the State Government including a number of investors’ meets and Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s foreign visits every now and then, could not bring anything to the State.
The Chief Minister’s visits with the objective of inviting foreign investors are unconstitutional as it is a central subject. Chouhan and his immediate predecessor Babulal Gaur went abroad more than a total eight times and several crores were expended. How can such tours be justified when the state is reeling under a debt burden exceeding Rs 1,50,000 cr, he added.
As many as nine international investors meets have been conducted by the regime at a cost of about Rs 100 cr and about 1,500 memoranda of understanding inked but the outcome remained almost negligible, he alleged, adding that investors are not keen to inject funds into the state as the law and order situation is at the nadir besides absence of proper infrastructure for establishing industries.
The states BJP government is playing into the hands of major industrialists while precious land is being allotted to big business houses at throwaway prices, the Congress leader averred.
Mishra also said BJP President Amit Shah deliberately kept Chouhan away from the campaign trail in the Bihar elections as the Chief Ministers image stands tarnished owing to the multi-crore Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board inconsistencies even as several accused hail from that eastern state.
